A naming ceremony is a beautiful, non-religious, way to welcome children into a family. You can celebrate a new baby, older children, adoptive children or stepchildren forming part of a new, blended family.
The ceremony embraces the love and commitment of parents to the child, acknowledging the role of family, friends and community. You may want to include your hopes and wishes for your child as they make their way through life, recite poems or readings or include meaningful, symbolic actions, the planting of a tree, a hand or foot printing.
The beauty of a celebrant led ceremony is the flexibility to celebrate your family where and how is most meaningful for you. As with a christening or baptism, this is not a legal ceremony, and so can be held at home, in parks, at a community centre or somewhere special to your family.
I will sit with you, and we will write your family story together. You may have a very clear idea of what you want to say and who you want to include, which is great, but I can help with plenty of traditional or more personal ideas and content if you require a helping hand. Either way, the script will be final when it is perfect for you.
